Aggregate Dryer Drum Refurbishment Retro Fit

AJ Specialist Welding was involved in a major removal and replacement of internal components to an asphalt dryer drum for Mountsorrel Quarry.

We visited on-site to review the dryer, discovering the shell was still in good condition. Upon further inspection, we verified that with refurbishment, it would provide years of good service.

The project meant that the quarry in Mountsorrel was on a one-week shut down and this was our timescale for the project. The job was completed on time and to the satisfaction of our customer.

Aggregate Dryer Drum Manufacturing Parts

The components were manufactured and supplied by ourselves here at our Coalville workshop. Each aggregate dryer component was produced in its entirety at our manufacturing facility.

We began with a complete internal survey of the dryer which enabled the production of manufacturing drawings of each part.

A full carbide wear package was applied. The material we used was chrome carbide.

Each of the worn asphalt dryer drum components was removed and refitted by our team on-site during the shutdown period.
